CareCounsel founded the emerging area of healthcare advocacy niche in 1997. Our Health Advocate Program provides advocacy, education and information, coaching and resources for employees, retirees, and their families.
As a CareCounselor, you will interact with consumers over the telephone, clarify their benefit plans, troubleshoot problems, advocate on their behalf and empower them as they choose and use health plans and healthcare providers. Along with direct consumer contact, the position includes liaison with human resources staff, health plan staff and physician office staff.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background (5+ years) in healthcare and employee health benefits. The individual must possess outstanding people and communications skills with an aptitude for customer service. You should be computer and web literate. A master's degree in a healthcare-related field or a RN is preferred, but a strong health benefits background is acceptable. Effective CareCounselors are flexible, fast learners with good judgment and enjoy working in a supportive team environment.
